From Hokkawa-guchi Station (Hojo Railway), take the Shinki Bus bound for “71 Hokkezan Ichijoji via Himeji Station” for 11 minutes and get off at Hokkezan Ichijoji.
From Hodono Station on the JR Kobe Line (Sanyo Main Line), take a train bound for “Hojo” and get off at Mikuchi, then walk for 40 minutes.

Hokkezan Ichijoji Temple is a Tendai Buddhist temple located in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture. Legend says it was founded at the behest of Prince Shotoku. It has long been a center of faith as the 26th temple on the Saigoku Sanjusankasho pilgrimage route.
The highlight of Hokkezan Ichijoji Temple is undoubtedly its National Treasure three-storied pagoda. Built in the Kamakura period, this elegant pagoda captivates visitors with its beauty. Surrounding the pagoda are numerous historic structures, including the Golden Hall, the Guardian Deity Hall, the bell tower, and the Founder's Hall, each possessing its own unique charm.
The temple also houses many precious Buddhist statues. Among them, the "Silk-mounted colored portrait of Prince Shotoku and Tendai high priests (10 scrolls)", designated as an Important Cultural Property, was created in the late Heian period and is characterized by its meticulous brushwork and vibrant colors.
