Overview

Konkai Komyo-ji Temple is a principal temple of the Jodo sect, founded in 1175 by Honen. Known as the family temple of Aizu clan lord Matsudaira Katamori, the temple grounds include a cemetery for Aizu samurai. It's also a popular filming location for movies and TV dramas. Enjoy the stunning seasonal beauty, from cherry blossoms in spring to vibrant autumn foliage. Highlights include the Omiedo Hall, the Daiojo Hall, and the Shiun Garden.
