Overview

Kibitsu Jinja Shrine is located in Shinichi-cho, Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is the Bingo-no-kuni Ichinomiya. Established in 806 (the first year of the Daido era), it has been a place of faith for people for many centuries. The main deity is O-kibitsuhiko-no-mikoto, who, like the deity of the Kibitsu Jinja Shrine in Okayama Prefecture, is said to be the prototype of Momotaro (a legendary hero). The shrine's vermillion buildings are beautiful and exude a historical atmosphere. The grounds also feature numerous other shrines, a large ginkgo tree, maple trees, and more, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery throughout the year. Autumn's stunning autumn leaves draw many tourists. Kibitsu Jinja Shrine offers a tranquil and solemn atmosphere, making it the perfect place for relaxation and rejuvenation. Take your time to explore and breathe in the sacred air.
