Kibitsu Jinja Shrine is located in Shinichi-cho, Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is the Bingo-no-kuni Ichinomiya. Established in 806 (the first year of the Daido era), it has been a place of faith for people for many centuries. The main deity is O-kibitsuhiko-no-mikoto, who, like the deity of the Kibitsu Jinja Shrine in Okayama Prefecture, is said to be the prototype of Momotaro (a legendary hero). The shrine's vermillion buildings are beautiful and exude a historical atmosphere.
