Hibiya Park

Overview

Hibiya Park, located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, is a sprawling urban oasis approximately four times the size of the Tokyo Dome. Opened in 1903 (Meiji 36), it's Japan's first Western-style park, built on land that once housed daimyo mansions and an army training ground. The park bursts with seasonal blooms: cherry blossoms, dogwood, and azaleas in spring; hydrangeas, crape myrtles, and lilies in summer; sweet osmanthus in autumn; and plum blossoms in winter.
