Overview

Tamazono Inari Shrine is a sub-shrine of Suwa Shrine located in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture. It's revered as a deity of business prosperity and a patron of fishermen. Situated just behind Suwa Shrine, a path lined with vermillion torii gates creates a sacred atmosphere. Particularly famous is the giant camphor tree known as the 'Dakinan' (embracing camphor tree) located at the end of the path. Estimated to be several hundred years old, this enormous tree is believed to imbue visitors with power. The Dakinan has been cherished and venerated by the people for generations, and its presence is truly awe-inspiring. Additionally, Tamazono Inari Shrine features a rock called the 'Yaku-nanusake-kawaganiwa' (厄難避け蛙岩), or 'frog rock that wards off misfortune'. This rock has long been revered by the locals and is known as a power spot that grants various wishes. Tamazono Inari Shrine is enveloped in a tranquil and serene atmosphere, making it ideal for mental and physical rejuvenation. Be sure to visit when you're in Nagasaki.
