Maizuru Nature and Culture Park is a city park (scenic park) located in Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture. It was developed by Maizuru City on the former site of the Seibu Farm. Of its 43.7-hectare area, 34.7 hectares are currently open to the public.
The park features a camellia garden with approximately 1,500 varieties and 30,000 trees, and a hydrangea garden with approximately 100 varieties and 100,000 plants, offering beautiful seasonal flowers throughout the year. Enjoy camellias in spring, hydrangeas in summer, and stunning autumn foliage. In the camellia garden, you'll find a wide variety of camellias, from early to late bloomers, each a captivating sight. The hydrangea garden is a riot of vibrant pink and blue, creating a breathtaking floral spectacle. In autumn, the entire park explodes with fiery reds and yellows of the autumn leaves.
The park also offers walking trails and an observation deck for enjoying the natural beauty. Stroll along the trails, feeling the warmth of sunlight filtering through the trees, and take in the invigorating fresh air. From the observation deck, you can enjoy panoramic views of Maizuru City and the Sea of Japan, a truly inspiring sight.
During peak blooming seasons, to cater to the large number of visitors, photo and panel exhibitions, and seedling sales are also held. The photo exhibition showcases the park's beautiful flowers from various angles. The seedling sale offers you a chance to purchase your favorite camellia or hydrangea seedlings to enjoy these beauties at home.
Maizuru Nature and Culture Park is a highly recommended spot for connecting with nature and revitalizing your mind and body.
