Sarobetsu Primeval Garden is a vast wetland and primeval garden located in Toyotomi-cho, Teshio District, in northern Hokkaido, showcasing over 100 species of seasonal flowers. Its magnificent scenery overlooking Mount Rishiri is renowned as one of the most stunning landscapes in northern Hokkaido, captivating countless visitors. A roughly 1km walking trail extends from the Sarobetsu Mire Center, allowing for leisurely strolls to fully appreciate the beautiful flowers and abundant nature throughout the year.
In spring, enjoy the sight of Mizubashou (Skunk Cabbage) and Ezo-no-ryukin-ka (Japanese Marsh Marigold). Summer brings blooming Ezo-kanzou (Daylily) and Ezo-sukasuri (Orange Lily), while autumn displays the elegant Ezo-rindo (Gentian). The mire is also home to numerous birds, making it ideal for birdwatching.
