A museum brimming with the allure of the sea and transportation, where you can experience the history of Kobe Port and get up close to real Shinkansen bullet trains and helicopters.
Overview
The Kobe Maritime Museum opened in 1987 as a symbol of Kobe Port. Inside, you can trace the history of Kobe Port from ancient times to the present day, learning about its development through models and videos. There are also exhibits on the maritime industry and marine science, allowing visitors to deepen their understanding of the role and importance of the ocean.
The adjacent Kawasaki World is a corporate museum of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Here, you can see various vehicles manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, such as Shinkansen bullet trains and helicopters. By touching real objects and experiencing the driver's cabs and passenger seats, you can learn about the mechanisms of vehicles and technological innovations.
