Shuzenji Niji no Sato is a theme park in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, offering various themed facilities and gardens, including an English Village and a Canadian Village.
The park features diverse zones, each with its own charm: the English Village, Canadian Village, Fairy Garden, Indian Fort, Japanese Garden, Takumi no Mura (Crafts Village), and Izu no Mura (Izu Village).
The English Village recreates a medieval English townscape and houses attractions such as the Toy Museum, showcasing British antique toys, and the Railway Museum.
The Canadian Village, modeled after Nelson, British Columbia—Izu City's sister city—offers restaurants and shops selling imported Canadian goods.
The Fairy Garden is a Western-style garden featuring the Princess Rose House (a greenhouse with blooming roses) and the Royal Rose Garden, home to 100 varieties and 2,300 rose bushes.
The Indian Fort is a children's area with multiple slides winding through the woods, the longest being approximately 100 meters long, along with a large jungle gym. Beyond this area is a spacious lawn.
The Japanese Garden showcases traditional Japanese flowers such as wisteria, irises, rhododendrons, and hydrangeas, centered around a pond with a wooden bridge. The former main building of the Kikuyan Ryokan, where Natsume Soseki stayed while writing during his time in Shuzenji Onsen, has been relocated here and converted into the Natsume Soseki Memorial Hall.
Takumi no Mura features traditional Japanese buildings where artisans practice crafts like pottery and Yuzen dyeing. Visitors can try pottery, paper making, and nature crafts.
Izu no Mura offers Japanese-style souvenir shops and snack stands selling local Izu products, including seafood and mountain delicacies.
A mini-train, the Romney Railway, runs between Romney Station in the English Village and Nelson Station in the Canadian Village. A Romney Bus connects the English Village, Canadian Village, Takumi no Mura, and Japanese Garden, allowing for a leisurely stroll.
Shuzenji Niji no Sato is a theme park where nature, culture, and fun blend together for a full day of enjoyment. Bring your family and friends for a memorable experience!
