Overview
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force Hamamatsu Public Relations Office (opened April 1999) aims to provide the public with a better understanding of the JASDF. The facility showcases a variety of aircraft, including fighter jets, helicopters, and transport planes. Some aircraft even allow visitors to sit in the cockpit for memorable photos! Kids and adults alike will enjoy the interactive exhibits, including trying on flight suits and helmets, and experiencing a motion flight simulator. The full-dome theater provides an immersive experience showcasing the JASDF's activities and the mechanics of aircraft. The Hamamatsu Air Park is highly recommended for aviation enthusiasts and families.
Bus: Take the Entetsu Bus from the Hamamatsu Station North Exit. Board the '51 Izumi-Takaoka' bound bus from platform 14 at the "Hamamatsu Station Bus Terminal" and get off at 'Izumi Yonchome'. Walk about 15 minutes along the base's outer fence.
Alternatively, take the Hamamatsu Public Relations Office route bus from platform 16 at the "Hamamatsu Station Bus Terminal": '48 Wagō・Nishiyama・Kōhōkan' bound.
