Hida Folk Village (Hida no Sato), opened in 1971, is an open-air museum featuring relocated and restored traditional houses from the Hida region. Approximately 30 gassho-style farmhouses and traditional homes recreate the daily life and culture of the time. Visitors can also participate in or observe demonstrations of traditional Hida crafts, including woodworking, pottery, and dyeing. Highlights include the intricate ichi-i-ittobori woodcarving and Hida shunkei lacquerware. Hida Folk Village offers a relaxing stroll through a naturally beautiful setting, with ponds, streams, and rice paddies providing picturesque seasonal views.
