A hidden oasis of tranquility, this enchanting Japanese garden offers seasonal beauty. The autumn foliage is particularly stunning, with a breathtaking illuminated spectacle you won't want to miss.
Sho-un Sanso is a charming Japanese garden in Kashiwazaki City, its landscaping completed from Taisho 15 (1926) onwards. Created by Kenzo Iizuka based on a six-panel screen painting by the artist Takeshi Ito, the garden features a variety of trees, including Japanese red pines, azaleas, and maples, offering beautiful scenery throughout the year. The autumn foliage is especially spectacular, with approximately 300 maple and enkianthus trees painting the garden in vibrant reds and yellows. At night, the garden is illuminated, creating a magical ambiance unlike the daytime view. The on-site Kimura Tea Ceremony Museum offers the chance to experience a traditional tea ceremony using national treasure-class teaware. Enjoy a cup of tea while strolling through the serene garden – a truly unforgettable experience. Sho-un Sanso provides a unique escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, offering a special space to relax and connect with nature.
