Yambamba Bridge spans the Agatsuma River (Yambadai Lake) in Naganohara-machi, Agatsuma-gun, Gunma Prefecture. Constructed as a replacement road due to the Yambadai Dam project, it opened in 2014. This large bridge, with a total length of 494 meters and a height of 73.5 meters, offers stunning panoramic views of the Yambadai Dam, the lake, and the surrounding breathtaking natural scenery. The autumn foliage season is particularly spectacular, with the mountains ablaze in reds and yellows. A roadside station and hot springs are located nearby, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding area.
The Yambadai Dam was constructed over many years, a process marked by considerable debate and challenges. However, with the dam's completion and the opening of Yambamba Bridge, the lives of local residents have been significantly transformed. Yambamba Bridge represents a new landscape born from dam construction, a symbolic fusion of magnificent nature and human ingenuity.
