Enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view from the rotating observation deck! Experience Akita's magnificent nature.
The Kanpuzan Rotating Observation Deck is located on the summit of a mountain approximately 355 meters above sea level in Oga City, Akita Prefecture. The observation deck slowly rotates, completing one full turn in about 13 minutes, allowing ample time to admire the scenery. The 360-degree panoramic view offers a breathtaking vista of Akita's majestic nature, including the vast rice paddies of Hachirogata, the snow-capped Mount Chokai, the Sea of Japan, and the Shirakami-Sanchi, a World Heritage site. The unobstructed view is truly spectacular. While you can drive to the observation deck, the gentle slope of the mountain makes it ideal for trekking. Several trekking routes are available; for instance, a course that starts from a small observation deck on the mountainside and circles the summit area takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes and covers approximately 6km. Even those without extensive hiking experience will find this relatively easy course manageable. A restaurant is located at the observation deck, serving local dishes such as Inaniwa udon noodles and Hinai-jidori chicken and egg donburi (rice bowl). Enjoy a meal while taking in the magnificent panoramic view. The Kanpuzan Rotating Observation Deck is a highly recommended sightseeing spot for experiencing Akita's natural beauty. Be sure to visit!
