A park where you can relax while enjoying the view of Kamakura's ocean. From the triangular area, you can see the beautiful coastline stretching from Yuigahama to Zaimokuza and Zushi.
Kamakura Kaibain Koen [Sakano-shita Area] is a park where you can relax while enjoying the view of Kamakura's ocean. It's one of three areas (Yuigahama, Sakano-shita, and Inamuragasaki) that comprise Kamakura Kaibain Koen, located in Sakano-shita, Kamakura. The Sakano-shita area consists of two sections: a plaza offering stunning views of the coastline from Yuigahama to Zushi, known as the 'triangular area,' and a plaza in front of the municipal swimming pool. From the triangular area, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful, curving coastline extending from Yuigahama to Zaimokuza and Zushi. On a clear day, you might even be able to see Enoshima Island in the distance. The poolside park offers a pleasant resting spot, where you can relax in the shade and listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean breeze and distant waves. Kamakura Kaibain Koen [Sakano-shita Area] is perfect for those seeking a tranquil escape. Benches and tables are available, making it ideal for a picnic. Nearby, you'll find areas to explore Kamakura's streets and beaches, making it a great spot for a full day of enjoyment. A subtly placed highlight is the stele dedicated to Minamoto no Sanetomo, the third shogun of the Kamakura Shogunate. Sanetomo, born to the second shogun, Minamoto no Yoriie, and Hojo Masako, was known for his excellence in both martial arts and literature. The stele bears one of Sanetomo's poems. Kamakura Kaibain Koen [Sakano-shita Area] is a fantastic spot to fully enjoy Kamakura's ocean. We highly recommend a visit.
