A breathtaking waterfall cascading down a single granite rock, its graceful form is truly impressive. While the "snow rings" may not always be visible depending on the water volume, the sheer scale of the waterfall is awe-inspiring!
Located in Nogawa, Uwajima City, Ehime Prefecture, Yukiwa-no-taki Waterfall is a stunning waterfall selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls and also included in the Shikoku 88 Views. Situated within the 12km-long Suberigyo Valley, spanning Uwajima City and Matsuno Town, it's characterized by its smooth rock surface, formed over countless years of erosion. Located approximately 1200 meters upstream from the valley's parking lot along a walking path, it flows into the Meguru River, a tributary of the Shimanto River. This magnificent waterfall, approximately 300 meters long and 20 meters wide, cascades down a gentle slope of a single granite rock, captivating all who visit. Its name, meaning "snow rings," derives from the patterns created by the falling water, although these may be less visible during periods of high water volume. Well-maintained walking paths around the waterfall offer a pleasant stroll, allowing you to fully enjoy the majestic natural surroundings. The gentle slope also allows for a fun slide down the middle section of the waterfall, making it enjoyable for people of all ages. Suberigyo Valley is also known as a canyoning spot, and further upstream from Yukiwa-no-taki Waterfall, you'll find natural water slides. With accommodations like the Mori no Kuni Hotel located within the valley, it's a perfect destination for those seeking a relaxing escape surrounded by nature.
