Ryuzuga-taki is located in Takigawa River, a tributary of the Mitoya River in the Hii River system, originating from Toriyagamaru on the border of Unnan City and Izumo City. The upstream Otaki is a 40-meter-high straight waterfall, with a cave at its base where a Jizo statue is enshrined. The "Ura-mi no taki" (reverse view waterfall), offering a breathtaking view from inside the cave, is truly impressive! Metaki is a tiered waterfall, with only its lower section visible; its upper section is concealed behind rocks. Ryuzuga-taki's beauty is exceptional, as praised by the Meiji-era poet Keigetsu Omachi, who wrote, "Among the waterfalls of Izumo Province, Ryuzuga-taki is the finest; even if brought to Nikko, it would rank among the top ten."
