A park offering 360-degree panoramic views of Hakone, Tanzawa, and Mount Fuji!
Azumayama Park is a municipal park located on the 136.2-meter-high summit of Mount Azumaya in Ninomiya-machi, Nakagun District, Kanagawa Prefecture. The park's name is said to originate from the legend of Emperor Yamato Takeru, who mourned his wife, Princess Ototachibana, burying her hairpin on the mountaintop and lamenting, "Azuma haya." Azumaya Shrine, dedicated to Princess Ototachibana, is also located within the park. The highlight of Azumayama Park is undoubtedly its stunning 360-degree panoramic view. From the summit observation deck, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic mountains, including Hakone, Tanzawa, and Mount Fuji. Mount Fuji appears incredibly close, its grandeur sure to leave you awestruck. To the south, Sagami Bay stretches out before you, and on clear days, you can even see Oshima and Hatsushima islands. The park features a sprawling lawn perfect for relaxing. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery! In spring, rapeseed flowers bloom in abundance, creating a breathtaking yellow carpet. During cherry blossom season, witness the stunning collaboration of cherry blossoms and Mount Fuji. Well-maintained walking paths make it ideal for hiking or leisurely strolls. The relatively easy climb makes it accessible to people of all fitness levels. Azumayama Park is a perfect destination for nature lovers, those seeking breathtaking views, and families looking for a fun day out.
