Awaji-ga-toge is a mountain pass in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, with an elevation of approximately 300 meters. Known for its breathtaking panoramic views of Matsuyama City, it's a popular hiking spot. The summit boasts an observation deck, offering far-reaching views on a clear day. Sunset is particularly spectacular, with the sky and cityscape painted in vibrant orange hues. You can also enjoy seasonal flowers, such as cherry blossoms in spring and autumn foliage in fall. To access Awaji-ga-toge by car, there are some parking spaces near Kuwahara Junior High School; however, there is no designated parking lot, so parking is at your own risk. For cyclists, there's some space next to the transmission tower near the mountain trail where you'll often see others parked. The hike to the summit takes less than an hour even for inexperienced hikers, and the descent takes about 30 minutes.
