Access: Accessible by demand taxi from the former Mutsu Bus Terminal (75 minutes, 3-6 round trips daily, ¥1270). From November to April, when the visitor facilities are closed, it's approximately a 30-minute walk from the "Shiriya" area. From central Mutsu City, take Aomori Prefectural Road Route 6 (Mutsu-Shiriya-zaki Line) and then turn onto the Higashi-dori Village Road Shiriya Lighthouse Line. Show route

Op.Hours: Open to the public and accessible to the top only during the period from late April to early November (a donation of 300 yen is generally collected from visitors of junior high school age and older).

The Shiriya Saki Lighthouse stands proudly at the tip of Shiriya Saki in Higashi-dori Village, Shimokita District, Aomori Prefecture. As the first lighthouse to be lit in the Tohoku region on October 20, 1876 (Meiji 9), it holds significant historical importance.
