This Higan cherry tree is estimated to be 160 years old, with a height of 18 shaku (approximately 5.4 meters), a total height of 53 shaku (approximately 16 meters), and a spread of 45 jo (approximately 135 meters) east to west. During its peak bloom, countless cherry blossoms burst into bloom, creating a spectacular sight, truly resembling a snow-covered mountain. It sparkles in the sunlight during the day and transforms into a magical scene at night with its illumination, offering different moods day and night. The nighttime illumination, in particular, possesses an ethereal beauty, wrapping the scene in a mystical atmosphere. Every year, the "Ohira Cherry Blossom Festival" is held to coincide with the cherry blossoms' peak bloom, attracting many people from across the prefecture and beyond. During the festival, there are stage events featuring Iwagami Kagura (traditional dance), as well as stalls selling local products and light meals, creating a lively atmosphere.
