Tofunou Park

Overview

Tofunou Park is a naturally beautiful park located in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Established by Tokugawa Nariaki, the Lord of Mito Domain, with a wish for the peace and prosperity of the nation, its approximately 100,000 tsubo (approximately 330,000 square meters) of land blossoms with flowers throughout the year. It features walking paths, ponds, observation points, and more, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls, picnics, and enjoying the scenery. In spring, the park is awash in a sea of cherry blossoms, painting the entire area in shades of pink. The cherry blossom season attracts numerous visitors for hanami (cherry blossom viewing).
