Kannonzaki Ume no Sato Plum Garden, located in Ichikai-machi, Tochigi Prefecture, is a stunning plum grove boasting approximately 3,000 plum trees. Established in 1989 by local residents, the garden was initially an abandoned farmland. Driven by a desire for "muraokoshi" (village revitalization), the residents collaborated to plant the plum saplings. Today, it's a beloved tourist spot representing Ichikai-machi. In spring, the garden explodes with white, red, and pale pink plum blossoms, filling the air with a sweet fragrance. Well-maintained walking paths wind through the garden, allowing visitors to leisurely enjoy the blossoms. A viewing platform offers panoramic views of the majestic Ichikai-machi landscape. Various events take place throughout the festival period. Access is easy: approximately 40 minutes by car from the Utsunomiya Interchange on the Ken-o Expressway. A free shuttle bus operates from Ichikai Town Hall (seasonal). Free parking is available within the garden. However, parking can be crowded during the Plum Festival, so allow extra time for your visit.
