Japan's only beer museum! Experience the history of Sapporo Beer, dating back to the 1876 development project, through valuable documents and exhibits!
Overview
The Sapporo Beer Museum, located in Higashi-ku, Sapporo, is Japan's oldest beer museum. Experience the history of Sapporo Beer, inherited from the Hokkaido development project of 1876, through historical materials displayed chronologically, the beer brewing process, and tastings. Learn about the history of Sapporo Beer from its pioneering days through precious documents and exhibits. See brewing tools and machinery from the time, along with advertisements and labels from its founding, offering a glimpse into the beer-making process of that era. You can also observe the brewing process and enjoy tastings. In the manufacturing process section, you can see, touch, and feel how the raw materials of beer—malt, hops, water, and yeast—are used and how beer is made. In the tasting session, you can compare the taste of the “reproduction Sapporo Brewery Beer” from the founding era with the modern “Black Label” draft beer. The taste from the founding era offers a unique experience quite different from modern beer. The premium tour includes a guided tour of the museum, providing detailed explanations of the history and the brewing process. The tour concludes with a tasting session exclusive to participants, featuring a limited-edition beer you can only enjoy here. It's a museum that’s enjoyable for both adults and children, where you can learn about the history of Sapporo Beer and the brewing process while savoring delicious beer.
