Ebi-no-Kogen

Overview

Ebi-no-Kogen is a plateau at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters located in Ebino City, Miyazaki Prefecture, near the center of the Kirishima mountain range. Surrounding the plateau are numerous mountains, including Karakuni-dake (1,700m), Onanaike Pond (approximately 4km in circumference), and Shiratori-yama (1,238m), offering stunning natural scenery and diverse landscapes. In spring, the high-altitude *Miyama Kirishima* flowers paint the plateau in a vibrant pink. Summer offers a cool climate, making it a popular summer resort ideal for hiking and trekking. A popular trekking course is the one from Ebi-no-Kogen to the summit of Karakuni-dake. From the summit of Karakuni-dake, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Kirishima mountain range and the Inland Sea of Kinko. Ebi-no-Kogen also features hot springs, walking trails, and more, providing a variety of activities. Autumn brings the beautiful sight of swaying *Miyama Kirishima* and *susuki* (pampas grass) plumes, accompanied by stunning autumn foliage. Winter offers picturesque snow-covered landscapes.
