Kinugawa Onsen is a leading hot spring resort in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, nestled in the stunning valley of the Kinugawa River. Its history dates back to the Edo period, when it flourished as a spa town. The onsen town features retro-style hot spring ryokans (traditional Japanese inns) and hotels, each offering unique hot spring qualities and services. The five bridges of the onsen town are famous as the "Kinugawa Go-kyo Meguri" (Kinugawa Five Bridges Tour), each offering a different perspective of the valley's beauty. Surrounding Kinugawa Onsen are numerous sightseeing spots where you can experience the abundant nature and history of Nikko National Park, including Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Lake Chuzenji. Nikko Toshogu Shrine, dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, is renowned for its splendid carvings and decorations. Lake Chuzenji, situated at an elevation of 1,269 meters, offers breathtaking views surrounded by mountains.
