Ito Hirobumi's Villa is a portion of a villa built in Tokyo by Ito Hirobumi, Japan's first Prime Minister, who greatly contributed to Japan's modernization. It was moved to Hagi City in the 1950s. Built by Meiji-era master carpenter Ito Mansaku, this villa features exquisite architectural styles, including a mirror ceiling in the main hall corridor made from approximately 1000-year-old Yoshino cedar, and a coffered ceiling in the detached room.
