A power spot counted among the three great Inari shrines of Kyushu. A row of vermillion torii gates creates a sacred atmosphere.
Ogimori Inari Shrine is located in Taketa City, Oita Prefecture, and is known as one of the three great Inari shrines in Kyushu. Also called "Kitsunegashira-sama," it's a power spot that has been the object of people's faith for many years. It was founded in 1616 (Genna 2), beginning when Lord Nakagawa Hisamori of the Oka Domain invited the Inari deity. Later, during the Edo period, following a dream revealed to the feudal lord, the shrine's virtues were praised, and the main hall was donated, granting the shrine the name "Ogimori (Fan Forest)." Today, many people visit to pray to the deity who is believed to grant various wishes, such as business prosperity, abundant harvests, family safety, traffic safety, academic success, and matchmaking. Especially during New Year's visits, tens of thousands of worshippers visit, creating a lively atmosphere. Within the shrine grounds, vermillion torii gates line up, enveloping the area in a sacred air. Moreover, from the shrine grounds, you can enjoy a panoramic view of majestic mountains and lush rice paddies, allowing you to feel the power of nature. After your visit, it is recommended to relax and soothe your tiredness at a nearby hot spring. Ogimori Inari Shrine is a perfect place for refreshing your mind and body, surrounded by history and nature. Why not visit?
