A hidden gem where you can find affordable goods from the US!
The flea market held at Camp Courtney, a US military base in Uruma City, Okinawa Prefecture, is a hidden gem where you can find affordable goods from the US. It's become a popular destination for both Okinawan residents and tourists. US military personnel hold the market to get rid of their unwanted items when they return to the States or transfer to another base. As a result, you can find great deals on large furniture, home appliances, children's clothing, adult clothing, and household goods. Baby and children's clothes and toys are especially popular, but you might also stumble upon unique finds, including items unavailable in Japan, vintage goods, American souvenirs, and jeans. On flea market days, the base gate is open to civilians, but you'll need to present a valid form of government-issued identification such as a driver's license. Photography is prohibited inside the base. Please note that the dates are subject to change due to weather or organizer circumstances, so it's recommended to contact them in advance to confirm.
