Busena Marine Park

Overview

Busena Marine Park, opened in 1970, is Okinawa's main island's only underwater observation tower. Built by the Okinawa Tourism Development Corporation (now the Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau), it has been a beloved attraction for many tourists since before the reversion of Okinawa to Japan. The underwater observation tower is connected to the land via a footbridge, with a spiral staircase leading down to a depth of 5 meters. A circular window at the bottom allows for close-up observation of tropical fish and coral reefs. The observation deck also offers stunning views of the vast Pacific Ocean and the beautiful Busena Resort. The glass-bottom boat is a whale-shaped sightseeing vessel that departs from and returns to the western coast of Busena Cape.
