Matsue Castle is a hira-jiro (castle built on a slightly elevated plane) located in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. Also known as "Chiidorijo," it was constructed in 1604 (Keicho 9) by Horio Yoshiharu, the feudal lord of Matsue.
