Overview

Awaji Island Monkey Center is one of Japan's largest monkey facilities, located in Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. Approximately 150 Japanese macaques live in a near-natural environment, offering visitors the chance to observe their behavior and even interact with them. The center features a "Monkey Mountain" where you can get an up-close look at the monkeys' daily lives, and a "Friendly Interaction Plaza" where you can feed and touch the monkeys. On "Monkey Mountain," you can observe the monkeys living in the trees, eating, and playing together. At the "Friendly Interaction Plaza," you can feed and interact with the monkeys. This interaction is a great way to spark children's curiosity and foster a love for animals. The center also includes a "Monkey Science Hall" where you can learn about the ecology and evolution of monkeys, and a "Monkey Museum" showcasing various materials related to monkeys. At the Monkey Science Hall, you can learn about monkey anatomy, behavior patterns, and evolutionary history. The Monkey Museum exhibits monkey skeletons, fur, and even feces.
