An easily accessible mountain offering breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and the Kofu Basin!
Mount Amarigamine is a mountain approximately 1,731 meters high, located on the border between Nirasaki City and Minami Alps City in Yamanashi Prefecture. Situated on the eastern slopes of the Ho-ozan mountain range, a sub-range of the Southern Alps, it's designated as a buffer zone of the Southern Alps UNESCO Ecopark. Its accessibility by car makes it a popular spot for enjoying stunning views without a strenuous climb. From the summit, you can enjoy magnificent views of Mount Fuji and the cityscape of the Kofu Basin. At night, the beautiful night view created by city lights and the star-studded sky are breathtaking. Under the right conditions, you might even witness the spectacular sight of Mount Fuji floating above a sea of clouds. Mount Amarigamine is famous for its approximately 150,000 Rengetsu-tsutsuji (Japanese Azalea) that bloom in vibrant pink across the summit from early to mid-June, transforming the mountain into a breathtaking spectacle. This attracts numerous visitors. The parking lot near the summit gets extremely crowded during the Rengetsu-tsutsuji season, so an early morning visit is highly recommended. Beyond the Rengetsu-tsutsuji, Mount Amarigamine offers a diverse array of seasonal flowers, showcasing its beauty throughout the year. Spring brings mountain vegetable picking, autumn displays brilliant foliage, and winter offers stunning snowy landscapes. Well-maintained trails make it accessible to hikers of all levels, making it a popular spot for enjoying nature.
