Opened in 1874, it's also known for being the final resting place of numerous prominent figures. For example, historical figures like Oku-bo Toshimichi, Goto Shinpei, and Kitazato Shibasaburo are buried here. Despite being a public cemetery, the plot costs are very high (¥4,752,000 and up / 1.6 square meters), and the lottery application rate is extremely high as well. In 2023, there were reportedly 748 applicants for 60 available plots (a 12.5:1 ratio).
