Overview
Chiba Prefectural Bōsō no Mura is a prefectural experiential museum located in Eicho-machi, Inba-gun, Chiba Prefecture. It features reconstructed displays of Edo-period merchant houses, samurai residences, and farm villages, along with a recreated townscape from the late Edo and Meiji periods. It's a popular location for filming dramas and movies.
The museum offers a variety of workshops where visitors can directly experience the lifestyles and techniques of the past. Both adults and children can enjoy activities such as witnessing and participating in demonstrations of traditional techniques, including samurai martial arts and village blacksmithing. Workshops on traditional farming practices and games are also available.
The grounds also include the Ryūkakuji Kofun Group and Iwaya Kofun, a nationally designated historic site, relocated historical buildings, and the Fūdoki no Oka Museum—making it an ideal destination for history buffs. The Ryūkakuji Kofun Group is one of Japan's largest groups of kofun and is designated as a national historic site. The Fūdoki no Oka Museum showcases archaeological and historical exhibits from the Bōsō region.

Approximately 30-minute walk from Shimosō-Matsuzaki Station on the JR East Narita Line.
Approximately 8-minute ride on a Chiba Kotsu bus (bound for Ryūkakuji-dai Shako) from Anjiki Station on the JR East Narita Line, get off at the "Bōsō no Mura" bus stop, and then walk for about 8 minutes.
Approximately 22-minute ride on a Chiba Kotsu bus (bound for Ryūkakuji-dai Shako) from the west exit of JR Narita Station (Narita Line), get off at the "Ryūkakuji-dai 2-chōme" bus stop, and then walk for 10 minutes. (A direct bus from Narita in the morning and to Narita in the evening is available on Saturdays and public holidays from April to November.)
The "Fūdoki no Oka Shiryōkan-mae," "Gakushūin Shōdō-mae," and "Doramu no Sato" bus stops on the New Tōhō Sakaemachi Loop Bus (Anjiki Loop, counter-clockwise) are also available. Closed on weekends and national holidays.
